AP Summer Work

How much AP summer work should I expect?
I am taking:
AP Biology
AP Literature
AP Calculus
AP European History
AP Latin (online)

For AP Bio I had to read a book about evolution and take notes.
For AP Lit I had to read three books and do three separate little projects for them.
Do you not have your summer assignments yet?

Not yet. I think we’re getting it next week.

You should expect quite a bit of summer work - all of those courses at my school require summer work, and AP Lit and Euro are particularly time consuming. I mean, it shouldn’t take you more than a week or two if you pace yourself, plus - you have all summer!

I get my summer work next week. I’m going to try to get it done before July 1st. That’s my goal.

For AP Lit I have to read Jane Eyre and The Kite Runner and do some writing assignments in each.
For AP Bio, I have to cover some of the beginning chapters so we have more time to cover things over the year.
For AP Politics & Government, I have to read Hardball by Chris Matthews and do a writing assignment on that which is due in August, and I have to do 3 current events per week over the course of one month over the summer, and I have an assignment to do on the Constitution/the Bill of Rights. I might be missing something, but that’s all I can remember.

I guess I’ll be busy as heck this summer, but it’ll pay off.

Go class of 2014!

At my school Lit and Euro= an absolute ton of reading and analysis. Calc is usually just a bit of practice problems, and you might have to read a chapter of the textbook for bio. I don’t know about latin.
