APs are generally not used in admissions.
Our D chose to not take the AP stats test and took the time to study for her AP Physics C test. She got a 5 on both sections of the test allowing her to skip freshman physics which was for many a place where their GPA went to die. Her school didn’t accept the AP test for Stats so it didn’t affect her at all except that she had top grades in an AP level course. She considered skipping that test the best decision she made concerning AP tests.
