AP Test for Transfer?

Hi Forum,
My friend is a 2nd year student at DeAnza Community College, and is looking to transfer to a UC in Fall 2016. His GPA is 3.8 I think, but he hasn’t finished the required “College Level Math Course” consisting of Calculus and Trigonometry, and won’t be doing so before the deadline of Spring semester for finishing required courses. Therefore, he doesn’t meet the math requirement for UC Admission in Economics and/or Business So, my question is:

  1. Does UC take into account AP Tests for Transfer students? If so, can he work his way around his Math level course by taking the AP Test in Calculus?
  2. Will the University consider the AP scores of May 2016?
    Answers will be highly appreciated. I’m just tryna help him out, so my information isn’t too detailed, but I’d like to have an idea. Thanks people.
