AP Test question

I was looking at this website (College Board Advanced Placement Credit - General Education Program - UC Santa Barbara 2007-2008 General Catalog and I am confused a little. My senior year (in high school) I'll be taking Statistics AP. So if I pass the test, apparently I can't sign up for all of this classes: Communication 87, EEMB 30, Geography 17, PSTAT 5AA-ZZ, Psychology 5, Sociology 3 ? I want to major in communications and minor in psychology, is it going to be bad that I won't be able to take some of those classes?

I passed my AP stats test and yeah you aren’t allowed to take the following classes, but that just means that you already passed it because of your score on the AP test. You can still major in comm and minor in psych, but you’d have to take other comm & psych classes.

Yea I started looking at the general edu requirements and realized just how many communications and psychology courses they have, I was mostly worried that I was going to miss out on learning the basics because I know that learning it in high school is different than in college.

Just so you know, there is no psychology major offered at UCSB.

Otherwise, passing those tests just means you already have your credits for those completed and that your pre-major GPA for the major will be calculated without that class.

What? I’m pretty sure there is a psychology major.

I think Nolita meant minor, as the OP mentioned being interested in minoring in psychology.

Oh yeah sorry, I did mean minor.

Oh really ya I just looked at the minors and you’re right, psychology isn’t on there. Guess I’ll have to rethink my life plan lol
