I recently got my AP scores back and I received two threes for AP Chemistry and AP US History. Some colleges only accept fours to receive credit, even though a three is still passing. Is it possible to transfer out of entry level courses without getting the credit, since a three is still a passing score?
Nope, each college’s definition of “passing” is different. If they say it’s a four, they want a four.
Note that credit units, subject credit, and placement into higher level courses may have different thresholds at a given college. For example, some schools may give you credit units for a 3 score, but subject credit and/or placement into higher level courses may require a higher score or not be allowed at all. Some schools do not give credit units at all, but may give placement into a higher level course with a high enough AP score.
