AP test scores important at all?

Besides the potential college credit, do AP test scores mean much at all to top school adcoms? I would definitely assume a 5 on AP Lang is meager compared to a 750+ on CR on SAT I right?

No college requires AP scores for admission. If you want to provide them you can just list in application if space provided or in an essay. Scores will at least be seen then as part of the full file review that many colleges do but they are not given any significant consideration for admission.

I’d imagine colleges would want to see the scores from before senior year–taking an AP class and not sending in the score would just look questionable. But senior year AP can really just be used for class placement at your college.

It’s noteworthy that most college applications, certainly the Common Application, these days allow self-reporting AP test scores. My son has also received recruiting letters targeted at students with multiple AP scores above various cut-off lines.

I’m listing all my AP scores on my apps but for some reason, only a couple of them are on my transcript. Is this fine?
