i know that its said the actual test is a better predictor of your college grade than the course, and you can only get credit with a high test grade (4 or 5)'

i generally only get 3s and 4s, but find my course grade to be higher than most people who manage to get 5s.

What I'm asking is, who will do better in college; someone who scores a 5 on the AP test and gets an 85 in the course, or someone who gets a 3 and scores a 95 in the class...?

That is a valid question. Colleges will see these 2 scenarios:

A) 95 in course + 3 on exam = easy class

OR

B) 85 in course + 5 on exam = difficult class

But in my opinion, I would say the 85 in course and 5 on exam as a better indicator of success in college, because a B in an AP course is still something.

I don't think you can tell who would do better in college. It depends on how hard the class is, etc. Also, if someone is a better test taker, and gets a higher grade on the AP test, then that skill will help him in college. However, you need more than good test taking skills to succeed in college.

I believe someone with a 5 will do better in college, they know the material. One girl got a 95 in my chem class, 2 on the exam. She had the highest grade, but did not really know all that much. College, 60% + is from your midterm and final, 30% is from in class quizzes and the rest from homework. A regular class, its much easier to do hw, put in effort, and get a high grade, but in college, it doesnt work like that.
