AP tests - no credits but placement?

I want to put this out there now because it's still before the AP tests, and I'm curious. I know that JHU only offers credits for certain AP tests but I was wondering if they offered placement out of intro courses for the ones they didn't offer credits for?

I'm going to be taking four AP tests this year, only two of which will count for credit. I'm probably going to drop the AP Lit exam now, since it doesn't really matter, but I'm also taking the AP Psych exam. It's very very likely I'll get a 5 on that, but I'm not sure it's still worth taking if it doesn't at least place me out of Intro Psych. So does anyone know how non-credit offered classes work?

If it's not on the list, then you don't get anything for the test. I ended up dropping my AP English Lit and AP Government tests because I wouldn't get any credit for them at Hopkins

If those things interest you, take the test anyway because you'll have the knowledge. For example, Physics B does not net credit but the knowledge is even more valuable if you decide to take physics.

i disagree with post #3. work your tail off in the class and become knowledgeable in the course but why waste $84 if your school won't give you anything for it? you can still reap the benefits of the class but the tests won't really help you.

I'd agree with fragaholic.. Definitely take AP classes but if you won't be getting credit for them, no need to waste money on the tests.

Okay, I misread. I would not take the test if I was not getting credit. I would however stay with the class.

Um, it'd be too late to drop the classes anyway. I mean, I only have half a semester left to go, and I'm getting A/B's, which is definitely better than a "withdraw" on my report card.

But thanks. :3 I'll call them and ask if I'll get placement, but I think I'll probably be dropping two of my tests now.
