AP Tests Useless?

I was wondering, I understand that taking AP tests will definitely help people in regards to placement in college classes, but does help in the admissions process? Does it help to take AP tests your junior year to put on your college apps, or is it useless in that sense?

May seem like a rather confused, ignorant, or just weird question...but I'm not sure.

i know it helped me. It was one of my main selling points for the fact that i had a passion for education and self studied for a bunch of ap tests. CORNELL!

Haha. Cool.

Which tests did you take and how many hrs/wk did you put in prior to the exam (and for how long)?

My school does not allow us to take AP classes until our senior year, excluding AP Spanish for native speakers. Therefore, I would basically be taking the information I self-studied or learned partly in my reg/honors courses.

I'd like to take Chem/Bio/Stats/Psych this year, but I think it might be too much, considering they are just a day or two apart for the most part.

I think it helps because it shows colleges you are motivated towards learning the most you can. If you're school offers AP courses and you don't take them, it won't look really nice because on the common app. counselor form, it asks the counselor how many AP courses are offered in the school and if your schedule is the most demanding possible or not quite so demanding or blah blah not demanding at all. Though, it depends on what type of college you want to go to. If you want to hit the top colleges, you should definately take every single AP class you can get your hands on.

this year im taking ap chem, ap stats, ap us history, and ap english language

at the beginning of the year it seemed like a lot, but maybe i just wasnt used to the course load...i started school in sept. btw...and by the beginning of nov. i got used to the work load...so its not that bad

For those who say they do matter a lot; I beg to differ. I was accepted to a great school (think HYPSM) having taken only 1 AP (school offers a lot), BUT I also took classes at the university I was accepted to and one course at my state college. EDIT: I aced the hell out of all of them.
