So first of all, I’m in IB and I’ll be in my senior year next year. I’ve already taken AP U.S. government, psychology, and environmental science (yes, my school offered some easy ones), and next year I’ll be taking calculus AB and self-studying European history (we have this class offered but it won’t fit into my IB schedule so I’ll try to work with the teacher if I ever need help). I have taken honors economics before and I’m currently taking IB history of the Americas. Would it be a good idea to take the exams for macroeconomics (micro might conflict with the IB exam schedule but I’ll have to check that later) and for AP U.S. history? This would essentially mean 4 AP exams and 5 IB exams (the class of 2017 completed math in junior year due to [again] schedule issues).
There’s usually not much of a point to taking that many college exams- universities don’t accept unlimited AP/IB credits and it won’t help your app as much as some think.
Worry more about your IB exams…make sure you are ready for those. Colleges give credits based on IB exams.
If you can prepare for AP exam without interfering with IB, go ahead.
