For the AP tests that I’ve taken, I’ve gotten 6 5s (AP Calc AB and BC, AP Lang, AP Psychology, AP Physics 1, and AP Bio), 4 4s (AP Human, AP US History, AP World History, and AP Computer Science A), and 1 3 (AP Chem). If I’m applying to colleges like Northwestern, UChicago, and UPenn, should I self-report that 3 or not? I’ve heard some people say not to report 3s to those schools, while others have told me that it’d still be beneficial. Thank you!
It won’t be “beneficial” one way or the other. It’s your choice to report a 3. That said, if an AP Chem class appears on your transcript, an AO may assume you got a 1. Cos have been known to contact GCs/applicants to explain missing scores.
But in reality, just omitting one score is fine, IMO. If you were omitting a bunch of 3’s, that would be different.
Your scores are very good. I’d report them all. Colleges don’t expect perfection, but they appreciate full disclosure. IMO, disclosing the 3 demonstrates character.
Alright, thank you guys for your answers! I think I’ll go ahead and report it to the college with all my AP scores.
