Hey, there's no chance that I could take AP tests or something in the beginning of my senior year next year and the scores be available by application time right? I'm not sure about the whole process.

Also, does not having APs a bad thing? I never even knew about them until this year lol. And does Canada offer places to take APs? Cause if Canada doesn't, then thats my excuse ahah.

Thanks

you are right; there’s absolutely no chance of that happening. in the US (i can’t say for Canada) everyone in the nation takes their AP tests in May. But if you register for your senior year classes and they are AP, you can put that on your college apps and the colleges you are looking at will know that you are taking a rigorous courseload your senior year, not just taking a bunch of elective classes. You would have already gotten your decision for college (accept/reject/waitlist) by May when the AP testa are administered.

As for your question about whether Canada offers a place to take AP tests, talk to your guidance counselor at your school and inquire about that. And anyway, if your school doesnt offer APs, its not a deal breaker; you just have to be taking–and getting good grades in-- a courseload that is pretty rigorous.

hope i have shed some light on the issue.

Ditto on what crazyyy said.

APs are tests only in May (same week or so as IB exams too I believe). Canada does have testing centers with a few in Toronto. Although it’s an American test, there are testing centers in Canada (same thing with SATs - you can still do it in Canada).

I had friends doing AP, IB and SATs in May. It was a fun month.

ok, thanks guys. Yea, so I definately wont have time to prep for these APs. I wish I knew about them earlier, like in grade 10 or something. I am writing my SAT in May, so I don’t think I’ll have time to balance both, plus prep for the subject tests too. Argg, I’m pretty ****ed.
