AP Tests

What's the point of taking AP Tests in your senior year?

I think it's mainly because then you can get college credit. Also why not just take the exam if you've already taken the class.

At many colleges you can indeed get credit if you pass your APs with a certain score. Yale itself does not grant credit, but it does allow you to bypass introductory courses and, in foreign language, to fulfill your requirement by passing an AP foreign language test with a certain score.

You still need to take foreign language with a 5 on an AP foreign language class. You will, however, be allowed to take a higher level class than you would otherwise.

It's strange because the score for passing is a 3 but most colleges require a 5 to bypass a certain course (not that I object to it though).

Here's the list of the accelerated credit Yale gives <a href="http://www.yale.edu/yalecollege/freshmen/academics/acceleration/table.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.yale.edu/yalecollege/freshmen/academics/acceleration/table.html</a></p>

Apologies for giving the wrong information on foreign languages. I've just learned that Yale changed its requirements for the class that just entered as freshman. Previously, you didn't have to take a foreign language class if you scored a 5 on a foreign language AP test, but now you do.
