AP U.S History advice

Hi guys,
so I WANNA KNOW IF ONE MONTH IS ENOUGH TIME TO STUDY FOR MY AP exams. Honestly, my school's AP program is mediocre and i feel really unprepared for the test. Just to give you an idea, you should know that we are not even 3/4 done with the textbook. What resources would you guys suggest to get me prepared in a month(basically a whole lot of cramming). I already have Barron flashcards but i don't know if going through them alone will help. PLEASE HELP!!!! am more desperate than you can imagine! =(

@dark knight Thank you sooo much!do you think i can still pull off a 5 in a month bu using the APUSH U.S History? how about flashcards?

Hi! I’m taking APUSH too. For me I find the Amsco Ap us history book really useful. It only costs around 20 dollars. It is great because it has all the information you will need to know for the exam- no more, no less. Good luck!

@dark knight thanks again. i can’t send you direct messages because am new to this site and it doesn’t allow one to send a DM before reaching 15 posts…whatever. Anyway, once again…IS ONE MONTH ENOUGH TIME??? keep in mind that am also taking the SATs a few days before the AP.
Truth is i genuinely love U.S History and have a good average right now but the AP exams is a whole new ballgame.

@1029384756 Thanks a lot for the advice! i will definitely look into AMSCO as well. Good luck too!

I wouldn’t do it OP. I tried to study for AP European History in two weeks using 5 Steps to a 5 and online materials, and I was lucky to get a 3 on the AP test. I guessed 2/3 of the multiple choice questions; it was the essays that saved me.

@dark knight thanks again!! and how exactly do i explore the old AP tests? on the collegeboard website? i can’t seen to find them there

and @orion222 what exactly do you mean by “I wouldn’t do it OP”?? thanks

Don’t study for only one month without having taken the class and write the test. You’ll get a crappy grade and waste your time.

@dark knight is the book you suggested by Larry Krieger? i don’t wanna order the wrong one thank! you are awesome!

@orion222 ohhh yh i am currently taking APUSH so i have some knowledge. i just need to study in order to ace the test

I got a 5 on AP US last year and all I really did to review was highlight and take the practice tests in the Princeton Review book, it’s super helpful! But if you feel like your class won’t finish the book in time, either get ahead and start taking notes (this really helped me) or your textbook might have chapter outlines online.
I also used the flashcards for my AP World History exam sophomore year and I felt like they didn’t really help as much mainly because there were like 500 of them.

@celbee I have an APUSH review book coming in and i hope to get some help by using that. and how long did you prepare for??

@dark knight i just ordered the book! Thanks a ton!! any more advice?

Around 2 weeks before, but I had been taking notes on the chapters during the year, so that helped. I’m sure a month will be enough for you to review!

I use this website, it’s paraphrases the text book we used
