Hey guys, I was thinking since I am going to be studying and all for AP USH this year I thought I may as well take the SAT Subject test for it this May too.

The subject test is on May 5th
The AP USH exam is I think May 11th

HOWEVER: I am a sophomore still, I just figured it would be fresh on my mind.

May 5th seems like the natural time to take it for someone in APUSH this year. You could take an example test beforehand and make a final decision based on your result.

I suggest taking it in June. Study for AP since this is your only chance, then concentrate on taking practice SAT exam. Are you using AMSCO book? You will not forget if you keep refreshing. These two exams are reportedly the closest together. My sophomore took both (I am a mom) and he aced them.

Either one would work in my opinion. The two tests are pretty alike. But, it’s true, you are more likely to forget stuff after a month, especially since after you’re done with APs all you want to do is relax.

That being said, I took the WH and USH Subject tests in June, and got 800 and 790 respectively. So really, it shouldn’t matter. If you think you are comfortable with the material, take it early. If you really think that you need time to study, take it later. But make sure you actually use that extra time. Otherwise it’s better to just get the testing done with.
