I'm going to be taking the AP US Government Test and the AP Psychology test. I think these are both fairly easy AP tests, but I'm not sure. I'm wondering if anyone has any opinions on either test or tips for how to study for them... I wasn't planning on doing much studying.

I go to a pretty good public school, but we really don't have many APs. They only offer APUSH to Juniors and all the rest (about 9 others) are basically senior classes, but you can only take six of them, and most people don't do that because 2 of them are Calc, 3 are Sciences, and another 3 are History/Social Studies...

Anyway, last year I took APUSH and got a 4... and I missed 20 multiple choice (long story...). For that test I had AMSCO to look over before the test, but I don't really have anything like that this year, so I'm wondering if I need to get a review book...

We've done practice tests in school, and I basically got a 4 on US Gov without studying (and the things I got wrong were stupid mistakes)... I know a 4 on both of those tests is good enough at just about any school to get credit...

My teacher says that APUSH is a LOT more difficult than the govt exam and that it wouldn’t be uncommon for a student to score a point higher (ex. a 4 on APUSH would translate to a 5 on AP Govt) on the US Govt exam.

DBQs aren’t hard. Gov just covers a lot less material. The gov exam also has common sense questions that you could get without even taking the class.

At my school, AP Gov comes before APUSH in the “Honors Social Studies Track,” because it is much easier. Last year, I found the multiple choice portion in AP Gov extremely easy–I doubt I got more than 5 questions wrong on the whole thing. I would recommend looking over past essay questions on apcentral.collegeboard.com because I knew my information but I was not too confident at writing the essay, and I wish I had prepared better for that–though I still got a 5, so it wasn’t a big deal.

I’m self-studying AP Psych right now, and the issue is mosly knowing the vocabulary. I’m just going through practice tests and the essays on AP Central to prepare.
