AP US Gov.- How was it?

darn, i guess the curve wont help me then if everyone did well.

Don't worry. I'm positive that 10-12/20 kids in my class didn't pass lol.

My school doesn't have an American Govt Honors, so those who need their american government credit soon are forced to take AP.

Well, if i dont pass the test, I will take it in college as pass/no pass.

Jman: Thanks =] made me feel a bit better!

it was hella easy....the FRQ's were easy, except for the last part of #2 b.c i didnt know the case. MC was so easy.

i think it's just intimidating with all the smart people on CC worrying whether they got a 4 or 5 (even though i sort of fall into that category).

you can't underestimate the dumbness of the majority of our high schools. even the kids signed up for APs.

what score range do you need for a 4?

yes it is very intimidating. I am not a good test taker you see so I dont do well on the multiple choice, but my strong point is the essay portion, I can do well on that. So yeah, I am kind of worried now about the mc section if everyone thinks its easy because I left a lot blank.. and yeah.

Multiple choise was really easy, free response was okay. : )
I wrote about Godzilla as a presidential candidate in '08.

Multiple Choice was A LOT easier than anything we ever got in class (not EASY in general, but easier than the stuff.)

-- worded better

essays, no comment. First two, alright, second two, UH UH! No way i even got any points on them. So, if i got say 60% of the MC right and the first 2 essays, (most at least of the first two,) would that be at least a 3 you think?

i hope so, cuz I think i got 60% of mc right, and a decent grade on 3 essays.. could i get a 3?

I completely bs'd the second essay

other than that, I did great

about how MUCH did you guys write for the FR?

for 1, 2, and 4, i wrote about a page and half each.

for number 3 i wrote like half a page. i didn't know it it all :( haha

Comparative was hell...but my friend made it all worth it. He showed up at 7:45 on a day we didn't have school, even though he doesn't take AP Government, to dress in a kilt and tunic and give us the Braveheart speech before we went in there (and to top that, he was standing about 10 yards from our Randall Wallace Shrine, as I call it...he graduated from my high school).

sweet, thats very nice of him. I wish someone was brave enough to do that in my school. BTW, what is he doing with a kilt in his closet?

How much would you say is a 4 or 5?

I answered 57 out of 60 questions (probably got 50 of those right) and I think I averaged 5 out of 6 on the essays.

Easier than I expected all things considered. I probably got a 4... definitely passed.

Yeah, about the "rulings" part of the second FR question... yikes (is this discussing too much? I promise not to go further... heh)...

There was definitely some stabs in the dark, heh. I generally wrote at least a page and a half for each answer. No more than 3 pages. To be honest, I always give additional reasons when they ask for 2 (in this case, as many as I can think of)... just to cover myself if I flub up one.

infiniteabyss -- I'm with you on the essays.

3 totally killed me.

I loved 1 and 4 especially, but I was kind of iffy on the last part of #2 but I got the rest of #2 no problem.

i truly believe that anyone who took APUSH and got a 5 on it, they could easily pull a 4 on this test without taking the class. with only prepping court cases and the US Const, i think a 5 could be possible. there is so much overlap. i wish i had taking this test last year so i could include even more details in my essays.

That's a relief to hear.. I got a 5 last year. AP Gov seemed verry easy this year but I didn't do enough refreshing prep. I hope this doesn't cross the line but did anyone notice that there was almost nothing at all about like the demographics of the people who vote the most, etc.? My friend apparently wrote so much on the FRQs- Like 3 pages for each? She was working down to the line. She only got a 3 last year, actually.. Nearly everyone else was done with 20 minutes to spare, though.

I wrote ten pages overall, so about two pages per question.

The MC was overall really simple and straightforward, except for one or two questions toward the end.

The essays were equally easy, except for #2 somewhat.
