AP US gov vs. AP psych

My senior year I'm taking AP bio, AP stats, writing 121/122, honors economics, French 3/4, and Spanish 5/6...and either AP US gov or AP psych. My dream school is Reed. Which is the better choice?

It really doesn’t make a difference, take whichever interests you more. AP Gov is probably considered slightly more rigorous but hardly.

Great, thank you Pancaked! So does it matter if I have a gov class at all?

Top schools in general want to see 3 years of history, including US History and something like Euro or World History. US Gov’t isn’t needed at all assuming you’ve got US History in there.

From Reed: “Given the wide variation in high school programs, however, there are no fixed requirements for secondary school courses.”
… Meaning they definitely don’t care!

So APUSH, AP Euro, and world history… Yay I’m set! I think I’ll end up in psych then, the summer work looks more enjoyable  thank you!

ApGP is a simpler test and the course is viewed with slightly more rigor

Oh okay Vince, thanks for that insight
