I need to re-memorize all the court cases (lol) but other than that I think I’m good to go for the exam? IDK, it mostly seems like common sense to me. But then again I’ve been interested in politics since I was 9 so that probably makes a difference!
The court cases are definitely a different story, though. I have no idea how I’ll be able to remember them!
My teacher had us take a test in Supreme Court cases last week, and we had to be able to identify the background of the case, the constitutional question, and the ruling. At the time it was so much studying, but now I have about 50 Supreme Court cases memorized and I’m so glad.
Anyone know a good source to practice questions, I’m self studying for this as I got a 3 my sophmore year and really want to get a 4 or 5. I have Barron’s and the 2009 released exam
I’m freaking out. The AP U.S government and politics is in May 10th and so far I’ve been cramming and memorizing key and important words. So far I know all the amendments, the most important Court cases, but seem to do terribly on campaign finance and other things to do with campaigns. I’m using the Kaplan Ap us government and politics book to study but it’s a big book and I’m not sure if I can finish it before Monday, considering the amount of work I have to do for my other ap’s(chemistry, biology) I’m a sophomore and I’m wondering if any of you guys have taken the test and can you please give me tips and strategies other than no pronouns for frqs(don’t forget to space out your answers, and always outline)?
@JasmineArmani Don’t freak out! I’m taking the exam too, and i’ve never seen an FRQ about campaign finance reform. If anything you probably don’t need to know the details, but the broad concept of the cases, and the act.
@SugarSmarts Same omg. I’ve tried studying and I took part of the 1999 practice exam and did horribly. I’ve come to realize how my teacher really didn’t teach us anything that’s actually going to be on the test. And I had AP Gov last semester. I feel like I’m going to bomb this exam tomorrow
Haha… I think 3 is easily achievable and 4 is too. We took a practice exam today in school and I got a 4 without studying so it seems pretty easy. Need to study though to get that 5 lol.
Good luck tomorrow everyone! I don’t think any more trying to study is going to help me at this point lol but I think I can manage a 3. Hopefully the FRQ’s aren’t too bad.
