Which workbook (barron’s, kaplan, 5 steps to a 5, etc) for AP US Government is going to be the best? All have the 2017 versions out. Also, which flashcard set would be the best? Please reply based on experience! Also other AP tips! Thank you!!
Hi! I just took the AP US Gov exam this past year and earned a 5 so here is what I did:
MOST IMPORTANT: pay attention in class and do well on the quizzes and exams
-KNOW VOCAB: the AP US Gov exam is vocab heavy, know it. Even if you don’t know the answer to a question, if you can define the terms you might get partial credit. Some MC questions are straight up vocab.
Materials:
-Barron’s Review Book: Really helpful, especially with the practice tests. Take 1 a few weeks before exam to get a sense of what you need extra work in
-Barron’s Flashcards: while they may seem overwhelming, you don’t need to use them all. You will already know a lot of them from class. Skip those and only look at the ones you don’t know much about
-Crash Course: Great book for a quick overview on essential topics covered on the exam.
I hope I helped… Feel free to ask any more questions!
@MPC6789 thank you! in class we make notecards with only the definitions, so the barrons will probably give the detail needed. congrats on getting a 5, i hope i do the same!
Thanks, you’ll be fine!
When you know, PM me what text book your class uses… Maybe I can help. Do you only make notecards of the definitions or…?
