What is the textbook (not study book) you used in your school for AP U.S. government? Is it good? (would you recommend it?) - for self study purpose. thanks.

I know you said not study guides, but I’m just putting it out there that really all you need for a 5 is REA’s Crash Course.

Swebber is definetely right, but if you don’t think that’ll be enough for you personally, our school uses the book, “The American Pagaent.” It’s a pretty good book. It has a lot more information than needed but at least it’s not dry.

^Isn’t The American Pageant meant for APUSH? Either way, I agree that Crash Course is the best prep book for AP Gov.

My mistake. Forget what I said about The American Pagaent.

i read crash course and the Constitution the night before the test and got a 5. total of about an hour of study. its probably not worth it to spend a lot of time with princeton review and other such books

Government in America: People, Politics, and Policy AP Edition by Edwards, Wattenberg, Lineberry

Easy to read if you ask me

No doubt about it - Crash Course is easily the best and most efficient book for AP Government.
