AP US History and English books

Hey,

I am looking for a good prep-book for APUSH and AP English Language, not for the test in May, but to help me throughout the year in the weekly tests in class, MC in particular, etc.

I read the sticky in this forum and I am seeing that AMSCO is popular for APUSH and Cliff Notes for AP Language. Why is this so? Are these two books good for the year and class?

Also, is this the AMSCO book?:

If not, can someone provide me with the link? Apparently, Amazon doesn't sell this book new anymore.

I took both classes last year and didn't use a prep book for either, BUT I've also heard from people that AMSCO is very thorough (which will help with your weekly quizzes and so on). I'm not sure how good Cliffs is for Language, but the best way you can practice MC is if you work on the tests already released -- does Cliffs have that?

That's the right AMSCO book - I don't think Amazon ever sold it new, but last year, AMSCO started selling it on their website
