Do you have to use all the documents in the apush dbq? Also, do we have to cite the documents? Thanks
You don’t have to use all the documents in APUSH, but it’s highly recommended that you do. As for citing documents, you would just put parentheses after your claim to list the document you used. For example:
Therefore, you could write:
According to Phidencial, in his fake study to US News, over a quarter of College Confidential students get accepted to Harvard (Document 7). This shows that forum participation greatly improves the allure of the applicant in the admissions office… even those who do not get into Harvard manage to get into their safety school, Yale… (obviously this is a joke, but you get the point).
No - I only ever used the bare minimum - 6 - and I got a 4 on the test last year. Not a terrific way to measure method but at least only using 6 didn’t drag me down too much??
You don’t need to cite the document like you would in a bibliography - only refer to it by title or author when you first introduce it. Beyond that, you can refer to the document by number.
I try to center my partitions around the documents and try to use all the documents. I even reuse documents to show grouping. (e.g, As seen in Doc 1, 3, and 7…)
