AP US History Multiple Choice Curve

Hello all,

I've been doing my final studying for the APUSH, and I have a question. In doing both old AP tests (MC section) and the questions in the AMSCO book, I tend to get about 85-90% of the questions correct. Having done very well in class, I have no qualms about the essays or the DBQ.

While I understand that on every test the curve changes for the multiple choice, what approximate Multiple Choice raw score does one need to get a 5?

I purchased the AMSCO book after the rave reviews on this site, and must admit that it is really valuable - more so than any test-prep book out there.

Thanks,
Matt

85-90% is way more than you need to get a 5. With good essays, you could probably get away with 60%+ and pull in a 5.

There’s no curve for multiple choice specifically but the curve in past years made it necessary to get a ~60-65% to get a 5.
