AP US History or Regular Physics

Hello folks, I’m a senior this year with a little bit of a schedule debacle. My High School has only one APUSH and (non AP)Physics class and they’re both in the same period. I’m not sure which one to pick so I was hoping to get some pros and cons from you

Background info : Applying to Computer Science majors next year and I already took our Honors US History last year as well. Took Chemistry and 2 years of Biology so far.

Any help regarding this is deeply appreciated.

AP Physics. Easy choice. If you will be applying to CS through an engineering school, they will be looking for AP Physics. I would imagine that any STEM based program will be looking for AP Physics.

Plus, unless you are planning to major/minor in history, you’ve taken enough US history.

Just my opinion.

Thank you for the reply, I just wanted to add that’s regular Physics, would that still change the outcome ?

Ah, I see. Sorry, my misunderstanding.

I would probably still go with Physics, especially if you are looking at majoring in CS. If you are really driven, you could ask your teacher to guide you through the self study process for the AP - it will be very difficult, but worth a look.

I’d be curious to see how other feel about this.

I would suggest taking the Physics. You already had US History, and you haven’t had Physics, and physics is the one with relevancy to CS.
