AP US is so boring

US history is sooooooooo boooooooring and pointless

AP Euro was a lot more interesting because it was so dynamic
There were formations of states, religious reformation, scientific revolution/exploration, the enlightenment, THE FRENCH REVOLUTION, otto van bismark, the industrial revolution, the colonization of africa.........

The only topic in AP US

agriculture, slaves, puritans, and tarriffs. For 200 years.

I feel you… I took APUSH last year with the worlds most monotone and boring teacher. It was a living nightmare.

I feel like when you have transcendentalist reform movements highlighting an entire unit, that really says something about american history. APUSH is sort of boring, although there are some chapters im looking forward to, esp. Civil War & Post WWII eras. regardless, its much less interesting the ap world

^^That sounds like my AP world history class actually UW. APUSH is fun, because my teacher is a cool guy and he likes me, so it’s pretty fun.

I had an amazing APUSH teacher last year. I really loved the class, and I am also loving AP Euro this year. I can see how a boring teacher would make the class suck, though. Fortunately, my teacher was interesting. Best of all, he’d give us all the notes so we could just sit there absorbing everything he said. I barely had to study for the tests. All I did for the SAT II was go over his notes for a 770, and I didn’t study for a 5 on the AP Exam. I wish I could share the notes he gave out. They’re brilliant.

i liked it! lol. it gets more interesting later on

Yeah, APUSH is very boring from 1492 until around 1776. It picks up then but loses momentum again until, IMO, the whole Oregon trail/California Gold Rush/1850s. Civil War is good, Reconstruction sucked, and I thought urbanization and industrialization were boring parts. Imperialism was bad, but WWI was great and I’m now up to the 1920s and early great depression, which is very interesting.

I second this statement.

Its boring until the late 1800s when “big business is born”. The early half is a snore-fest for me. We’re now in the 1920s, in my APUSH class.

I haven’t had a dull moment in APUSH yet, except for the tests obviously.

wow we are still in the 1830s…

My teacher for APUSH was a great guy, unfortunately he was not a very good teacher. I ended up getting a 5 on the AP test though, so everything worked out  Overall I found the class to be pretty boring, partly because I had already learned about the majority of the content multiple times. I find classic civilization type stuff to be way more interesting than U.S. History.

Hahaha I loved AP USH. Especially the Puritans. Last year’s DBQ made me believe in a god for a whole five seconds.

Have you tried reading your textbook like it’s a story? I couldn’t get through AP Euro, but last year in AP USH when I started seeing History like this whole weird, horribly written novel, my grades improved a lot.

I dunnoooo. I guess it’s just about finding a way of looking at it that works for you.
