<p>So my summer assignment was to outline the first 5 chapters and define words and outline 8 essays and write one of this 8 essays.
ANYWAY....it takes me like a solid 5 hours to outline one chapter. do you think maybe i am writing to much?!. Because i have this good format going on for outlining. Everyone is telling me it should take me no longer than an hour cause thats all the time i am gonna have during school to do it. considering my course's are pretty hard..</p>

<p>taking good notes is a science in high school. if you're spending 5 hours on any one chapter, i'd say yes, your notes are too long. and if you say it's a good format, it's obviously not, because it's too long. there are many methods of notetaking. don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone.</p>

<p>well...it usually takes me about half an hour if I already understand what the book is trying to say, and up to an hour for something I cannot understand for my life...</p>
<p>so...umm...I know I am a fast reader, so I'm not sure...lol</p>

<p>Yes, you are definitely writing way too much. An outline should be short and concise and include only the most important information in the text. It should only take you about 45 minutes at the most.</p>
<p>You assignment is pretty useless. Your teacher should just reading quizzes to make sure you read, and then give notes so you know the information properly. That's what my high school does, and last year's breakdown was something like this: </p>
<p>33% 5
42% 4
25% 3 or less, most of which were 3s</p>
<p>This owns the national breakdown, and its probably even higher this year. Heck, we didn't even have a summer reading assignment. </p>
<p>Anyways, you're outlining way too much. Just outline broad concepts, not details, else you're going to go insane.</p>

<p>etc etc etc. till i have 10 pages back at forth written</p>
<p>10 pages is way too much. drop the statistics for god's sake!</p>
