AP v IB for one class

Hey, I'm new to this site, and I'm not sure if this is the correct place to put this, but here's my question...

I will be a senior next year and my school is entering the first year of offering an IB program. Obviously, I won't be able to attend the two years needed to obtain a diploma, but I am still able to take an IB class or two if I want. I was planning on taking AP English and AP Chem/Enviro (one of the two, not sure yet), but would it be worth taking IB English (HL) or IB Bio (HL). Which of the two would look more impressive to college? Thanks!

Do not take IB classes unless you’re taking the diploma. The advantage of IB comes in the program as a whole. Otherwise, you’re far better off with AP, as it’s easier to get college credit and often less difficult.

New IB programs usually take a while to get going; I personally wouldn’t do IB at a school that was just starting its program.

^^ I agree.
AP and IB have similarities and each has their own distinctions but you’d rather take the full IB course than take just one subject. You should do AP
