Why would AP hurt? The UC's don't weight most honors classes, and AP is generally considered to be more advanced. Unless you're talking about a university honors class or something.

UCs will weigh Physics Honors, at least if it is a real "Honors" class as opposed to one that is basically the normal class.

It also depends if you are taking Physics B or Physics C. Physics C is brutal while Physics B covers slightly more material than Honors and does it faster.

My recommendation, check out the teachers. At my school, the better Physics teacher teaches AP Physics and so in the long run, AP Physics is actually easier mainly because the teacher knows how to teach!

Sometimes, too, because AP classes follow a national curriculum, they cover the subject material in a logical fashion, whereas an honors teacher can teach as much (or as little or as disjointed) as they want.

You can go to the UC admissions (or UC app?)website and check whether
this Honors class at your school has the extra point for UC's or not.
At our school, Honors Precalc and Honors English 11 had extra points,
but not Honors Biology or Honors Chem.
