AP vs IB

Im trying to make an important decision.
I want to go to a school like University of Cambridge or University of Oxford from America.
Should i go to a prep school like Phillips Academy andover or should i go to the public school in my town that offers IB courses? which will give me a better chance of getting in?

IB for sure.

Why would you say so?

IB is accepted and understood in the UK. AP is not.

This. If you’re applying internationally, IB is always better than AP, because it’s an internationally-recognized (and internationally-praised) program.

If you want to go to the University of Cambridge, then you should go into the Cambridge program if a school around you has one.

no cambridge program near me, but i know andover has connections with them and they have had many graduates that went to oxford. also i was looking into going to eton or harrow for sixth form either for real or through a semester exchange program through andover.

Andover has name recognition. As do other top boarding schools in Northeast.
