AP vs. SAT II Prep Books

Hey guys, quick question :)

If I am taking the AP course for Literature and Biology this year as well as the SAT IIs for the corresponding subjects, is it redundant/unnecessary to buy BOTH AP and SAT II prep books for those 2 subjects?

Also, if I am taking Precalculus this year, is it nice to have a SAT II Math Level 2 prep book as well for review, or taking the course enough?

From past experience it also seems to me that Barron's is the best for test prep am I right? (At least for AP)

Thanks!

I don’t know about the APs, but for Math II you should definitely borrow/buy the Barron’s book for practice and review. Most precalc classes don’t cover everything on the SAT II.

I disagree. If you’re semi-decent at math you should be able to walk into Math 2 clueless about the test and still score an 800.

As for your original question, I’m not certain about lit but for biology there’s a high extent of overlap between AP and SAT so I guess you could avoid having to buy another prep book altogether, though the additional practice (which is mutual to both tests by the way) will help when it comes to bio MCQs.

Thanks guys, that helped a lot!
