So a couple of weeks back I took the AP Chemistry, Physics B, and World History tests, and this weekend I'll be taking the SAT II tests for each of the subjects. Seeing as I've already extensively prepared for the AP tests, I already feel sufficiently ready for the SAT II tests; however, a comparison between the two would give me a general sense of how well I will do and whether or not I should study a lot more. If anyone has taken both the AP and SAT II tests for these classes, please tell me how they went! Thanks!

SAT IIs are usually easier than AP tests in general. However, seeing as it’s been around 3 weeks since the AP tests, and if you haven’t done any prep, I would suggest some review at least for world history and maybe the other two as well, depending on how confident you feel.

I took SAT II Physics after I took AP Physics C - Mechanics. I didn’t prepare for SAT Physics and hardly knew E/M (since I took a full year mechanics course) so I wasn’t quite ready. Still got a 740 on it…

Basically put, if you are confident with the AP tests, the SAT subject tests should be a breeze.

They cover a different material.
I was prepare for AP’s but not for SAT II.

AP Calculus BC 5 - 780
AP Physics C (5, 5) - 740
AP Chemistry 5 - 700
AP USH 4 - 690

All tests I took in May (in 9, 10 and 11th grade)

What did you get on your mock exams? Seniorsfo is pretty accurate. A 5 on an AP translates to 700+ on an SAT II…

Thanks, rspence and seniorsfo, for the info! I felt pretty confident about the AP tests, so I’m not going to worry about this weekend too much. Also, seniorsfo: can you elaborate a little bit on how the SAT II tests cover different material than the AP ones (for chemistry, physics, and world history)?

ellefalloir: I think I got a 4 or 5 on all of the AP tests I took; because of the difficult nature of the AP tests, I’m not sure if I beat the curve. Hopefully this means I will do well
