Hey, I know this question has been asked a MILLION times before, but I can't seem to get a satisfactory response.

Basically, I have really good GPA, SAT's, rank, blah blah blah. Anyway, I'm taking 3 AP exams this week (actually the AP Bio in 10 hours. Hmmm. PANIC.) and OF COURSE my body chose this week to get really freaking sick. Combine that with the fact that I had weak teachers this year, and I'm kind of stressing out about them scores!

AP Eng is in the bag regardless (knock on wood), but AP Bio and AP World have me sweatin' a little, and it's not just this raaaaging fever. I kind of (REALLY REALLY REALLY) want to go to a top (or toppish) LAC. Hopefully I'll be able to pass those dreaded two, but if I get a bunch of 3's, will admissions be like "Ew, she's so average, she barely passed. Let's reject her. Ha ha ha we're so cool, crushing dreams for the win"? I already got a 3 on the APUSH last year because I was a sophomore and college was still lightyears away!

Anyone want to tell me if I should pull an all-nighter trying to teach myself the history of recorded humanity??

And yeah I know I procrastinated like hell for reviewing...shhh don't yell at me, I'm sick! (coughs up blood convincingly) :)

Thanks!

AP exam scores generally do not affect admissions. Also, you don’t need to report them. What’s more important to colleges is your grade in the AP classes themselves. AP exam scores are simply for credit…it’s nice to have, but it’s not important. AP exams don’t even hold a candle to the SAT/ACT in terms of admissions. As long as you did well in the classes themselves, you have nothing to worry about.

Ah, so good to know. Cheers mate!

While you don’t need to report your AP scores you definitely should. It often looks bad for a college to see that you took an AP class and you didn’t say what grade you got on it. It’s hard for them not to assume you failed.

On the other hand it’s definitely true that the AP exams play little to no role in terms of admissions. Like, seriously, a lot of schools don’t even ask to see your exam scores. other tests are much more important. However, if you’re aiming for credit you may want to try your best since every little bit helps.

Good luck on the Bio exam I’m taking it too so don’t do too well you’re my competition. Also, especially good luck on the World exam. That test is a monster (or it was 2 years ago when I took it). Seriously, 10,000 years of history across the globe and they can ask you any question about any of it. Unlike the 230 years of history concentrated on the rather uneventful area occupied by America that the US history exam covers. I don’t envy you.

Yeah, I’d heard you should report them too. I’m not really aiming toward credit since only a few college after offer it, so whatever. I think I did okay on the Bio…oh RIGHT, except for the part where I puked.

World sounds freaking awful, haha I’m going to suffocate myself with the shrink-wrapped essay booklet on test day.

Thanks for the head up and words of wisdom!

Please don’t freak out about World. I took it 2 years ago and it’s really not that difficult. Relax.

Don’t listen to the rational voices in your head (or on the forums). Go ahead and freak out. It makes the experience all the more memorable.

QandAorBust! I’d love to not panic over the exam, but I don’t think there’s anything I can do about it, haha. Might as well let the freak-out flag fly I guess.

moodragonx, yeah don’t worry. I have no rational voices anyway, so they won’t bother me.

BUT SOON IT WILL BE DONE FOREVER. And then eff the Byzantines.
