ap weight

Do AP classes have a higher weight than honors at your school?

honors don't have weight at my school

do you have a weighted gpa

Honors get a .5 weight, added to the GPA for the class (Basically adding 5 points to the grade you get in the class), and AP gets a 1.0 weight added, like adding 10 points to the class grade...

I think Honors & Normal classes are the same since we have like 2 total honors classes. APs get a .37 added, no matter what your grade is in the class. Our GPA system is really stupid..gym is a full 1.0 because it's a "normal" class. So if you took somethink like ap us history or ap calculus which is really hard..you'd only get a .37 added. Plus if you got an A in the class, and someone else got an F, both of you get the .37 Really unfair.

No weight for honors. For AP .5 is added. That's about it.

Same here. No add-on for honors, and .25 each semester for AP (.5), but only if you take the AP test too. Which I have no hitches with. Y'all are lucky who get a full 1.0 added.

Honors count as normal classes, AP grades are multiplied by 1.1 (we go on a 0-100 scale)

at my school regular classes are unweighted (a=4.0, b=3.0, etc.) and both honors and AP are weighted the same (a=5.2, b=3.9, etc.). It's a little absurd in some cases, because we have some ridiculously easy honors classes, but oh well...

Wow you guys barely get your classes weighted, my school emphasized APs + Honors so much
1.15 Weighted for Honors, 1.25 Weighted for APs
But...the honors and APs are really competitive. You need to apply to each honors/AP class and only like 30% of the applicants who want to take it get in. An example would be for 10th grade English you had to write a critical analysis of any Shakesperian work, needed to have an interview with the teacher, and a recommendation from Middle school or 9th grade English. In 11th grade honors you needed to show 5 essays, interview, recommendation, and take a test before the first week of school on 3 books. Similar selection criteria applies to other subjects as well. (Before AP calc BC for seniors you need to take the Math IIC SATII and have a Math SAT score available)

It's pretty screwed up if you think about it but oh well

we weight for AP's 1 extra point.

Oh yea well beat this! My school does not weight honors OR AP classes at all.....

^THAT sucks!!!!

Honors and AP are both weighted here...you get a 95% in the class, its technically a 105%, you get a mid B at 85%, its technically a solid A 95%...yep.

^Although, you have to get at LEAST a C+ (I think thats anywhere from 77-79%) to get any weight at all.

we get weight for a C and up

honors .5
AP 1.1

What's the grading system at your school?
At mine:
A=100-93
B=92-85
C=84-?
I'm not sure about the exact numbers for the rest, but 67-0=F

omg mcz are you serious?
for me

A = 90-100
B = 80-89
C = 70-79
F = 45,55,60
P for passing 65.....

weighted for an ap class is 5.0 and for an honor class its 4.5 and for an IB class its 5.0 and for an P-IB class its 4.5.
if you took classes in middle school early and got credit for them, though, then they are only worth 4.25. it sucks, cause those lowered my gpa.

WOW PEOPLE NOW DON'T YOU SEE WHAT ALL THESE 4.0'S mean on CC? No one people get rejected, their grades aren't true 100's. Also 5 points for AP?! Are you kidding me!? How do you not get a 4.0 with that, seriously grade inflation combined with rampant cheating, I am not surprised
