AP World History HELP

I'm planning to self-study AP World History. I have the Barron's Book right now...is that all I need for a 5? Do I need to get a textbook too?

A textbook, in my opinion, would be helpful but I do not think that it is necessary. AP World was my first AP so at that time I didn't know how to utilize prep books, but I managed to get a 4 based off the textbook only, plus I had a good teacher. However Barrons should be fine, maybe complimenting it with Princeton's or Peterson's.

We used this textbook: Traditions and Encounters
Click on Student Center and they have pretty good chapter outlines, so you don't have to go buy a book

Thanks! That's really helpful...

Did the test ask a lot of nitty picky questions (like dates, & other exact things) like the US History exam?

Does anyone else have suggestions? Thanks so much!

Our teacher required us to get CliffsAP for APEuro.

I wonder if it'll be enough though..

In my opinion, the AP World History test is very broadcompared to AP Euro and AP US. Though you don't have to know exact dates, you do have to know the time periods, the Chinese Dynastys are a good example of that, and when happened where. Pretty much, you just need to know what was happening in one place while (this) was going on in another and (this) was happening here). The effects of things (such as the silk road) on different societies and areas, etc. The Most specific question I got was about The Iron Curtain.

No textbook. Barron's AP World is enough.

No nitpicky questions at all.

yeah, im self studying ap world history too right now, i have the princeton review and barrons book. I would recommend getting the pr book too because it talks more about the essays, and overall is more general.

I got a 5..used PR.
