AP World History Independent Study Textbook

Would:
World Civilizations [Hardcover] by Adler, Philip J.
be a good book for independent studying AP world??

I think all you need just for the purpose of doing well on the exam is Princeton Review and Petersons. Princeton Review gives a thorough review of world history while Petersons teaches how to deal with the free response section.

i dont reccomend ap world independent study if its your first history or language ap, other wise, PR

Gandhiji
Any AP review book would be fine
I myself self studied, used the Princeton Review, and got a 5
The test is rather easy since most of the questions are broad and general (you probably already know about 40% of them)
The only thing you should worry about are the essays; otherwise, the test is very easy

I agree. I used PR to learn teh material and kaplans to review and got a five. A textbook will do you no good, just get a prep book

I was pretty mediocre in my AP world history class. I read about half of princeton and got a 4. Definitely recommend that book.

In our APWH class last year, we used the World Civilizations textbook (I think the same one you're talking about). And goodness, it was SO BORING I only read a few chapters.

Like everyone so far, I definitely recommend the Princeton Review Prep book. It has all you need. I started reading that from about 2-3 weeks before the test and guess what...I got a 5 baby!!

Anyway, I've heard that the APWH test is one of the easiest AP tests offered. So if you're thinking of independent study, this is the one to try. Take your chances and go for it!

Which review book for W. History AP?

Prineton Review. Trust me, I have done EXTENSIVE research over these books. I will be taking a *****load of AP exams this year, so I have decided to prepare early. I know which books are the best for a particular subject as far as getting a 5 on the exam is concerned.

Yeah, with most AP classes, for the exam itself, your textbook will be most likely useless. What I did for U.S. last year was I read the Spark Notes review, and got a 5 easily, and plan on doing the same with World this year.
