<p>i havent taken european. but what i can say is that it might be easier to focus on primarily one region vs. the world</p>

<p>I have AP World this year and it’s actually not that difficult, but it’s a pretty large breadth [not TOO MUCH depth] into the history of each and every continent’s past.</p>

<p>I have personally heard from a friend who takes both that AP Euro would be harder.</p>

<p>I took the class for World (but the teacher wasn’t great, so I basically self-studied), self studied Euro, and 5’d both.</p>

<p>Trust me: World History is substantially easier.</p>

<p>euro generally IS easier, because

  1. it is considered to be an ELECTIVE more than a full-on, hard-core history class; people at my school take it senior year to boost their gpa/ pad their resume.
  2. my friends who are taking it (& who’ve taken ap WH) say that it is a LOT less info to cover than worldhist is.</p>

<p>Euro might be an easier class, but I guarantee the essay prompts are harder. You do get to choose one of three prompts, but they are so specific that it is usually pretty challenging anyways.</p>

<p>Euro is less material to cover, but World is easier because of the breadth. You only have to know general information about the Mongols, Mesoamericans, and such. Actual events aren’t tested nearly as much as longer processes and general trends. By contrast, Euro is very fact oriented. And the art in Euro is a pain if you aren’t concurrently taking AP Art History.</p>

<p>My daughter took World, did not study at all except for reading parts of PR starting two nights before the test, and got a 4. Had a good teacher, though.</p>

<p>At my school, they axed out Euro for sophs because it was too difficult, and students in WHAP usually do better on the exams.</p>

<p>ap world isnt easy or diffilcult. if u study hard enough and stay focous you will do great. actually ap world is so much fascinating than other history class lol. i had a93 for us history honor and actually getting 99 averge thsi year for ap world.</p>
