Ap world history or Ap human geography?

Hi,

I have the choice of self studying either Ap world history or Ap human geography next year. I will be taking a normal world history class because the Ap world history class isn’t offered at our school. I am interested in both subjects, however i think that ap human geo will be easier for me because i was a state finalist in the geography bee. Any suggestions?

Both of those classes are pretty easy to self-study if you have time on your hands. However, if you are currently in a regular World History class I would definitely self-study AP World. In general, AP World would look better as Human Geography is more of an AP lite. Congrats on the geography bee

Take whichever you are more interested in. Human Geography may be more of a match for your background.

APHUG has nothing to do with what you studied for geography bee.

Take whatever is of interest to you.

Neither is likely to be that useful for advanced placement or subject credit in college. You might get free elective credits or “general social studies” credit for breadth requirements, depending on the college.

Right now I’m sort of leaning toward APHUG because i dont want to put too much stress on myself, but I’ll check with the others who self studied for APWH to see how easy it was for them. I’m not great at history or anything, I just thought that since I have the basics down, studying for APWH wouldn’t be that much harder

I also have to self study for ap biology…

APHUG will be easier, but APWH will be looked better upon.

^^ Exactly. APHUG is an incredibly easy AP- colleges tend to look down on it a little bit. APWH is notoriously harder because of the amount of material you need to know.

AP Hug was the only class my kid ever got a D on an exam in. It was also her only B as a freshman and the only high school class she ever came close to getting a C in. It was really hard.
