My son just received his AP test result in World History. He scored a "1" and he is in shock. He has a 4.4 GPA and had an A in his AP World History class this year (He is a Sophomore). I have looked at the threads about how hard it is to actually score a "1", so we should probably pay for a rescore, but I still have questions about how in the world can a bright, successful kid score a "1"???? Any suggestions?

Well if your son is really bright and believes the exam was not too difficult then the College Board is at fault. I heard cases where the multiple choice was graded incorrectly or the free response portion was left out. I would definitely order a rescore for your son’s situation because the grading process is not without fault. I took the exam this year as well and unless it was him filling the test out incorrectly, I believe the College Board made a mistake.

Thanks! I have looked at other posts and I think it will be worth the $25 to get a rescore. I think one of the most important piece in this whole thing is if he truly scored a “1”, we need to figure out a way to improve his test taking before the SAT/ACT exams!! He hasn’t had problems with achievement test before, but WOW!! this is a little alarming!

I got a 2 on World and thought it was the easiest thing ever! I’m definitely considering getting it rescored.

Hey guys, I know that this thread is 3 yrs old but I was just wondering how the rescores went. I just opened my AP World results and scored a “3” even though I thought that I did really well on it.
