AP World History Vs. AP European History

Out of the 2 APs, which one would you consider harder and which one is the most interesting?
I take AP World History and have a 97 at the moment, I just want to know how I would fair in AP European history. Especially since the AP Euro test is getting reformed for next school year

At my school, sophomores either take regular World History, AP World History, ot AP Euro. I’m taking AP World but I do know a lot of people who are taking AP Euro. From what I have gathered, the material seems to be about equal in difficulty, but the AP World class at my school is harder than Euro if you get a certain teacher and easier than Euro if you get the other teacher. So the difficulty depends on your school and the teacher.

I personally find World History to be more interesting than European history, and that’s why I chose it. It depends what you think is most interesting. If you have a 97 in World History, you should have a similar grade in Euro, unless the teacher you get is much harder.

spelling police: fare

IMO, all 3 histories are the same level of difficulty. The hardest one is the one that you take first, because you are adapting to a college-level course, an AP syllabus, learning how to analyze documents, etc. For that reason, AP World, which has the youngest group of test-takers, also has the lowest scores of the exam.

Which one is most interesting is personal preference/interest. Being from Europe, I find AP European History the more interesting.

Ah, I also forgot to mention this is my 2nd AP class, 1st being Human Geo. And, AP World and AP euro are both taught by the same teacher at my school
Good catch on the spelling, btw xD

Euro is more organized and chronological. The AP exam is centered around the cause, effects, policies of many events. They do not ask specifically who did this

Whap is where you jump from here to there, everywhere. It is surface level history compared to AP euros specificness. However AP world spans from 8000BC to modern day. 12k years of history. While Euro is 1300- modern day.

I am in world AP but not Euro. I am currently self studying euro and i must say, world AP is harder just for me because of how fast it jumps around

In conclusion The AP euro exam is based upon deep understanding of social changes, political, economic and cultural dynamics throught Europe. Things like wars aren’t important, why the wars happened and how they effect the 4 changes i just stated is what euro is all about
World is understanding the worlds growth and deep changes thorough time. It is less specific then euro, it takes a step back and looks the that big picture. really get that global perspective. So the 4 changes, culture ,economy, social and economic is also the center of World, however it is the broad comparison between civilization and the changes that made are world what it is today.

Hope i helped you out, message me if you want, have fun
Cheers

I’m taking both AP World and AP euro as a sophomore, and I agree- it partially depends on your teacher. My world teacher organizes all of the content so you can easily answer most of the mc with a simple chart (with that in mind, having to study 13,000+ years of history means it’s not in depth at all). To do well in world, you have to have the mindset of a Barron’s book-organized by time period and covering mostly the general points. Euro is much more specific, seeing that it covers around 700 years in comparison, and that’s why it’s harder for me. If you’re a history nerd and like studying certain regions in depth (or at least as much as an introductory level college course offers), then euro’s your class.

I’m taking world history and self studying European history
