I am not really planning on majoring in history in the future, so would taking that class be a waste of time? How much will dropping out of WHAP and taking Honors WH2 affect my chances in getting into an Ivy League school?

1: Honors AP World History? Isnt that redundant?
2: How much do you think youll be crunched for time? If you have no worries, take the AP. At least then youll have it knocked out before college. However, if you have a lot else going on, don’t take a class that’s going to stress you overly.
Most bachelor’s degrees require a course in history as part of core courses, so the AP World History is often used to satisfy requirements for a course in college, assuming you do well on the AP exam. I would recommend taking the AP course, since it can have this potential benefit.
Since your school offers AP World History taking that + 4-5 honors classes is likeky the most rigorous schedule, which is what you want if you’re aiming for your state flagship and top 40 universities/LACs.
