Ap World History

Im thinking about self studying can someone point me in the direction of what it covers and which texts are good

The guidelines for it are that it should cover about 2/3rds non-western stuff, so make sure you study Japan, china, India, etc.

I used Princeton Review and got a 5

is it challenging
im planning on self studying Ap Physhcology, ap world history and ap europenan history along with my regular school courses is this too much?

I don't know about Psych or Euro, but I thought World was pretty easy.

well i already took ap chem and it was best kind and i herd ap psych was good if you kept up with it so i think i might self study those 3 and get a good start on them over thesummer

Our teacher for World was pretty bad - but just because it was her first year.

If you want to do well in World, you have to understand what is going on in the world (each continent/location) during each time period that is tested - there are 5 major time periods - available on the AP website for details.

It is generally more focused on broad, general things.

I got a 3 but I lacked discipline and had little interest in the subject. I also bombed one of the essays. However - the university that I am most interested in (Marshall) offers 6 Credit Hours for a 3 so I am quite happy that I at least passed.

Half of test-takers get a 1 or a 2 for a reason - it isn't exactly the easiest AP class. I recommend going each time period in order and within each time period making notepacks of each location and what is going on - that way, it is easier to study when it comes down to the iron.

It's easy if you get a good review book. I got a 5, and my class was SOL level (minimum VA standards, that is).

Where do you go to school in VA?

World and Euro are basically all memorization. If you have the drive you can easily get 5's on both. If you like history it makes things a lot easier (like me).

our school doesn't offer AP world, but i self studied it anyways last year using princeton review and i got a 5, but lemme tell ya, studying for AP world is gay. it just covers so much random ********. i like history, but studying about the ancient egyptians, and byzantines and ancient chinese dynasties and ancient ghana and lots of other strange societies just seems so useless cuz its so far away. another thing you should bear in mind is that i only actually studied during the last week to week and a half before the exam, so i basically crammed a years worth of info in a 8 or 9 days, and now i can't remember ANY of it. and finally, the absolute best way to prepare is to learn the exact format you should write each essay, cuz the rubric for ap world and euro is essentilly a checklist.

Hampton Roads area.

Thing is, Kaplan is a great review book.

cuz the rubric for ap world and euro is essentilly a checklist.

Yeah rofl so true.

I took Ap world history last year. Ap world history covers ALOT! I was studying and was too lazy to learn more about the ottomans. And guess what, it was on the essay portion of the test.

Why is there so much criticism of World and Euro, but not APUSH?

I had the worst AP World History teacher this year. But, after studying with the Princeton Review and taking every possible practice test, I earned a 5 - The only one in my class

Why is there so much criticism of World and Euro, but not APUSH?

imo World and Euro are two of the best APs..

PR is good

Anyone rescoring their World history ap?

the best way to study for ap world is to use princeton review

The reason why AP World History has a high percentage of 1 and 2's is because it's more commonly than not, the first AP most people take.
