AP World or Leadership?

At my school, the hardest AP class is known to be AP World, and as a freshman, I've heard several frightening things of its difficulty. However, people say that if enough time is invested, success is possible. I play a sport at school, an instrument (which includes playing in a school orchestra and an orchestra outside of school for which I have to rehearse with on weekends), am on Science Olympiad A team (but I got an extra point boost on my app because I am a freshman), Mock Trial team, and DECA, not to mention studying for AMC10/12. Will I have enough time for this class??

Also, my school only allows for 6 periods but 7 if I am in orchestra. Taking out English, Spanish, AP Calc, and history, I have 2 periods of my choosing left. Should I take leadership and an AP science, or two science APs (science is my passion)? If I do take more than 2 APs (AP science and an AP math), can I take AP World? I want to do Leadership because I have thoughts of being on the school council, but I have heard there are several "stupid" people (quoted from those who do NOT take the elective).

Take the schedule you can handle better. Your schedule’s rigorous enough and no college is stupid enough to write you off because you took Leadership over AP World.

I have seen a lot of schools that indicate that they don’t even offer credit for AP World. My school doesn’t offer it.

I’m a sophomore, and one mistake that I’ve learned (so far) is that you HAVE to do what makes you happy, no matter what. I agree with @excavalier. Your schedule is very well rounded and rigorous as it is.

Choose that class that you want to take. Everything will fall into place when you’re applying to colleges.
