AP world vs APUSH

Which is harder? Is it possible to take one in concurrence with the other?

Which class is “harder” is kind of hard to tell. Both may be history classes, but they both have their own things that make them more difficult than the other. There’s also the fact that AP class difficulty can vary from school to school. APUSH at one school could be an easy A at one school, and hell on earth at another.

World History is a lot more broad than US for obvious reasons. That’s both a blessing and a curse in that you have less breadth to go through, but the information is more broad, meaning you’ll have to know lots of facts about lots of places. That’s not to say US history does not have this, but it occurs more in World history. From what my friends told me, APUSH feels somewhat “smaller” in that your main concern is America and how it interacts with everyone, whereas world history is everyone interacting with everyone.

The AP world history test averages aren’t the best indicator since it’s one of the most common first AP classes for people to take. Many of them aren’t aware of just how much AP classes demand, then get destroyed come test day.

It is possible to take them together, but I’d advice against taking multiple heavy memorization AP classes like world history and US History concurrently. Hope this helped a bit.
