AP World

Hi everyone--
I'm taking a World History class this year, and its not a designated AP course. However, I've decided to take the AP test in May and to begin studying now. I have a few questions:

How hard of an AP is World?
-How many multiple choice questions can you get wrong before you are out of the running for a 5? (roughly)

For the first couple of practice essays, do you think its okay if I reference information, as I do not know that much about the topics? This way, I will be learning and practicing my structuring, formatting, etc?

thanks!

I am currently in AP World History. From what I hear AP World is one of the easiest AP exams. You can get an easy points in your DBQ by having an additional document, simple thesis, etc. I would say you should get at least a 50/70 to be on track for a 5, maybe higher but it also depends on your essays.

the ap test for world history was extremely easy. just reading the princeton review a few days before the exam should be enough to secure a 5

I took the AP World History Exam last year, and I got a 5. I was honestly expecting a 4, because I came out of the exam a lot less confident about the multiple choice than a lot of my friends. They came out of it going "That multiple choice was really easy!" but they all got 4's or less. I'm naturally good at essays, so I think the essays were the thing that pushed me to the top.

I highly recommend the Barron's study guide for AP World History. If you study that, you will be fine. Essays can make or break you, though, so make sure to know the formats. I use the Princeton review book a bit, but I liked Barron's better because it went more in depth.

Honestly, I also had a pretty good teacher for AP WH. He made us do a lot of busywork, such as taking notes on the textbook, but it helped me get the information in my head. I honestly didn't study until the night before (I was studying for AP Environmental Science, where the teacher didn't teach anything, and I was more concerned about that), and I managed a 5.
