<p>^My school is that way too. In eighth grade, the only option was to be in band. Everyone was in the choir, so that wasn’t even an option. And my school doesn’t have any honors, so really, the only options for advanced study are to take the regular college prep courses and a few of the heftier electives, such as creative writing (where they write 50-page “novels”) and art.</p>
<p>My school counts too many AP classes. For example, this is the usual high school breakdown of math:</p>
<p>Freshman: Trig
Sophomore: AP Calc AB
Junior: AP Calc BC
Senior: “AP” Calc 3</p>
<p>There is no Calc 3 test, but it’s counted as an AP because they’re graded the same, and it requires a full AP education. Same goes for English, and I think they have an extra AP Science, but I’m not sure.</p>
