My d is starting in MA program in SMU. Any good insiders forum or community to look into apt options? We need to decide over internet and it is quite hard to know without seeing.
What areas are you looking at so far? The closer to campus the more expensive. Will she have a roommate?
My son lives in the Villages and really likes it. It is a group of several different complexes that have a central club house and recreational area. A little pricey but they do have one bedrooms if she does not have a room mate. And lots of young professionals live there.
Can someone give price ranges just to get a feel for the range? I’m looking at SMU for graduate school as well.
My son stayed at two different apartments off campus this past year. He paid $700 and $1100 - the first one was an average apartment… the 2nd one was more posh. They were both 1 bedrooms. There are many to choose from. Good luck!
Area around SMU is very nice. IMO it would be worth it to pay a little more to be in that location than to be in a cheaper apartment farther out and have to deal with a commute.
My plan is to stay in that area even if I have to pay more. Average is fine for me.
