Please recommend an apartment for a studio or one bedroom .
My son lived in Collegetown terrace.
Depends on your price point. Collegetown terrace is nice but kind of far from campus. Collegetown Plaza, Collegetown Crossing, and Eddygate are all closer but I’m not sure if they have studios/what the price would be. If you’re looking for the 2018-2019 year, I’d advise searching in August and setting up a couple tours of the apartments.
Collegetown Terrace is a little bit farther away from central campus. Most of collegetown is ~7 minute walk. Terrace can end up being farther and many take the bus to campus.
312 College Ave and Collegetown Crossing are more expensive options.
Collegetown Center and Collegetown Court are cheaper options.
@Ranza123 @polly1029 could you please give monthly rents (if known for 2 bedroom) for those recommended apts?
@CALSmom I don’t happen to live in any of them, so it looks like you’ll probably have to contact each of the apartment landlords for the most up-to-date pricing, which is pretty typical and can be done through the respective websites. From one link (https://www.apartmentratings.com/ny/ithaca/collegetown-terrace_9199332346275143948/) it appears that a two bedroom in Collegetown Terrace is $2,247/month total. Collegetown Plaza and Eddygate only seem to have their one-bedroom prices posted (as that’s what’s left for the upcoming year), which are $1,510 and $1,941, respectively. I can’t find any updated pricing on Collegetown Crossing.
Again, those are the newer, nicer buildings, so they’re going to be expensive. There are cheaper apartment buildings available (although still pricier than they should be; my apartment is not state-of-the-art but I still pay $920/month for a three bedroom), and the cheapest option is probably to live in a house that is either split up into apartments or split as a whole across ~6-12 people.
Ok thanks! ^
