Question.

If I want to live off campus in an apartment, will the cost be included in my financial aid or would I have to pull it out of my wallet?

Does off campus really mean "off campus" or does it have to be around the school? Cause then I can understand it to be commuting, and I can imagine no financial aid what so ever.

Confuzzled.

Depends on the school and how they do the COA (Cost Of Attendance on which need is based - COA-EFC=need)). At my daughters school the COA for students living off campus is exactly the same as that for students living on campus. Unless they are living with parents then it is much lower. Other schools the COA may be less or more for students living off campus. so check with your schhol - and check that all excess grants/scholarships are payable to you so that you can use them for rent.

My daughter will be moving off campus next year and will be able to use her financial aid to pay for her apartment and food.
