I'm stuck making a decision between living at Gainesville Place, Jefferson Second, Oxford Manor, Hidden Lake, and Royal Village. Does anybody have any opinions to each of the previously mentioned apartment complexes? Thanks.

I can’t comment on any other than Jefferson 2nd Ave. That’s where my D will be moving next week. If you get the current special they are running, I don’t think you can beat that for being in walking distance of UF and getting a new (only 1 year old) apartment. I’m sick at how much lower the rent is now than what we’ll be paying and we signed in March.

Jefferson is nice because of the distance to school but you might now want to walk back at nights, the area is pretty shoddy. You’ll be riding the bus to other places and people tell me it’s not that big a deal, having to ride it to class.

Jefferson 2nd is probably your best bet. It’s close enough to campus to walk, it’s fairly new, and the buses that run between the complex and campus are direct. The only other one I can speak for is Gainesville Place - also, not a bad choice, but it’s a decent bus ride from campus.

My son lives at GP and likes it. The buses actually come into the property with several stops throughout which is nice for late night.
